  1. I chose to become an English Major because my mother is an English teacher so I also grew up with an appreciation for literature and felt as though I could express myself the most in my English classes.
  2. My favorite part of being an English Major is learning how much power and meaning words hold and no matter how the world evolves, there will also be a need and a power in written and verbal language.
  3. The last book I read was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
  4. My favorite book series is The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis.
  5. A book character I identify with is Trevor Noah—in his autobiography, Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, Noah shares how his whole life he felt as though he could never fully identify with either halves of his race and while, legally, Noah felt a lot of pressure, I also connect with his personal struggles in his identity.
  6. The last book I bought was They Called Us Enemy by George Takei, and I have read it.
  7. My favorite book to movie adaptation is—unpopular opinion: The Hunger Games.
  8. I’m more of a writer than a reader.
  9. My favorite style of writing is descriptive writing because of the attention to detail and I use it a lot in journalism.
  10. My go-to children’s book is Are You My Mother? by P. D. Eastman.
  11. My favorite childhood memory is playing teacher with my friends and using red pens to grade each others’ fake homework.
  12. Growing up, I was sure I would be a teacher, so younger-Kati would be very proud of myself for following through on this dream.
  13. My first job was at a pottery studio in my hometown called On The Pot.
  14. My dream job is to be a principal.
  15. I like to spend my free time doing anything outside or art projects.
  16. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is to visit all 50 states.
  17. The literary place I’d most like to visit is New Zealand to see The Shire.
  18. If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in Europe.
  19. If I was stranded on a desert island, the three things I would bring with me are water, a boat, and a knife.
  20. The one song I could listen to on repeat is Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra.
  21. The best gift I ever received was—When I was a little kid I loved taking videos and pictures so my parents bought me a camcorder so I could make home videos
  22. The best gift I’ve ever given is a custom embosser for my mom’s books.
  23. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up cupcakes.
  24. If I could try any food from a book or series, it would be Turkish delight from Narnia.
  25. The author (dead or alive) I’d most like to spend a day with is Mark Twain.
