Jo Mahlum (she/her) is an undergraduate junior originally from Mounds View, MN, and is currently studying at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. She is studying both English and Peace and Justice while also living the student-athlete life playing for her school’s women’s hockey team. She is the Student Representative for the Midwest Region and is also Co-President of St. Norbert’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter. A fun fact about Jo is she has a wonderful host family for her hockey program and gets to be a big sister to five little brothers and sisters!
- I chose to become an English Major because I really enjoy writing and providing people a space to feel something that they normally wouldn’t have.
- My favorite part of being an English Major is when I have drafted the same thing over and over again and I finally put the last piece together.
- The last book I read was Ulysses by James Joyce.
- My favorite book is Normal People by Sally Rooney, and my favorite series is The Selection by Kiera Cass.
- A book character I identify with is Brie from The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg.
- The last book I bought was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, but I have not read it yet.
- My favorite book to series adaptation is Normal People.

- My favorite childhood memory is singing and putting on concerts in my backyard for all the neighbors on the block.

Jo is number fifteen on St. Norbert College’s hockey team. - My dream job is to be an author.
- I like to spend my free time camping, hiking, and being outdoors.

- If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in Vermont.

- The best gift I ever received was a blanket I received with Ian Somerhalder’s face on it.
- The best gift I’ve ever given is a photoshoot of me and my brother for my parents.
- If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up pancakes.
- If I could try any food from a book or series, it would be the food served to the royal family in The Selection by Kiera Cass.
