  1. I chose to become an English Major because I’m passionate about language as a means of understanding ourselves, our worlds, and our communities. Being an English major is a commitment to deep engagement in thinking deeply and critically.
  2. My favorite part of being an English Major is committing to a life of deep scholarship that comes from curiosity, listening, and resonance!
  3. The last book I read was Slow Days, Fast Company: The World, the Flesh, and L.A. by Eve Babitz.
  4. My favorite book is We Want it All: An Anthology of Radical Trans Poetics edited by Andrea Abi-Karam and Kay Gabriel, but I have many favorites!
  5. A character I identify with is the women who come and go speaking of Michelangelo in “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” by T.S. Eliot.
  6. The last book I bought was This Is the Honey: An Anthology of Contemporary Black Poets edited by Kwame Alexander, and I have read it.
  7. My favorite book to movie adaptation is Forbidden Planet as an adaptation of The Tempest by William Shakespeare.
  8. I’m equally a reader and a writer.
  9. My favorite style of writing is poetry.
  10. My go-to children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
  11. My favorite childhood memory is having all the time in the world to read!
  12. Growing up, I was sure I would be a dog groomer when I was in 3rd grade, and I distinctly remember in kindergarten wanting to be a dolphin trainer.
  13. My first job was food service.
  14. My dream job in the literary or academic sphere.
  15. I like to spend my free time listening to music, making bracelets, and playing on my 3DS.
  16. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is the Jersey Shore house.
  17. The literary place I’d most like to visit is Denver Zine Library.
  18. If I could move anywhere in the world, I’d live in a place with affordable rent and a great community.
  19. If I was stranded on a desert island, the three things I would bring with me are a notebook, a pencil, and a CD player.
  20. The one song I could listen to on repeat is Linger” by the Cranberries
  21. The best gifts I ever received were a mix-CD at the end of my undergraduate career, a specific t-shirt I’d been wanting for months, and also The Norton Anthology of Theory and Criticism.
  22. The best gift I’ve ever given is not up to me to decide! I do love giving gifts and hope that my loved ones enjoy it, too.
  23. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up allergy-friendly meals.
  24. If I could try any food from a book or series, it would be anything from the Whistle Stop Cafe from Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg.
  25. The author (dead or alive) I’d most like to spend a day with is the unknown writer of Beowulf.
