Sigma Tau Delta is developing a wonderful new partnership with Lambda Literary. We are excited to announce a unique opportunity to intern with Lambda, the nation’s leading LGBTQ+* literary organization. The Program Intern will work with the prestigious Lambda Literary Awards (Lammys). This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about LGBTQ+ literature and eager to gain experience in program management, communications, and event planning.
*Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and all emerging identities.
Position Overview
- Role: Program Intern
- Term: January–May 2025
- Hours: Up to 15 hours per week, with a weekly 30-minute virtual check-in
- Location: Remote

- Start Date: Mid-January 2025
About the Internship
The Program Intern will work closely with the Director of Programs to support the smooth operation of the Lammys. Tasks include:
- Conducting research to source award judges and ceremony personnel
- Managing communications with authors, publishers, and judges using Airtable and email templates
- Drafting social media content and newsletters to promote the Lammys
- Updating the Lammys website and databases
- Assisting with vetting the longlist titles for award categories

This internship includes a stipend of $750 from Sigma Tau Delta and offers invaluable experience and the chance to contribute to the celebration of LGBTQ+ storytelling. Accepted interns may qualify for work-study program release—please consult your school’s Financial Aid Office for eligibility.
Qualifications
- Passion for LGBTQ+ literature and storytelling
- Superb organizational and process management skills
- Experience with WordPress, Canva, Submittable, or Airtable is a plus
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
