Meet McKenzie Rodriguez

McKenzie Rodriguez is the Eastern Region Associate Student Representative as well as the President of the English Club and her Sigma Tau Delta chapter at Clarion University. She is a Secondary English Education major with a minor in Spanish. She is excited to decorate and have a classroom of her own this year. When she’s not in school, you can find McKenzie with a book in her hand, singing karaoke with her friends, working at the Clarion Community Learning Workshop, or tucked into bed with some Netflix.

7. My nickname in high school was Kenz.
8. If you find me in the kitchen, I’m typically whipping up chocolate chip cookies.
9. I’m more of a reader.
10. The best paper title I ever created was “The Love Song of Early Modernism.”
11. The literary place I’d most like to visit is Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
12. My dream job is a happy teacher.
13. An author I truly admire is Roxane Gay.
14. My go-to children’s book is The Stinky Cheese Man, by Jon Scieszka.
15. The destination at the top of my travel bucket list is anywhere in Ireland.
16. My favorite part of being an English Major is the freedom (reading and writing whatever you want!).

18. My favorite book series is Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling.

20. In 10 years, I’m betting that the big trend in literature will be climate change apocalypse.
