Isaiah Russell is a senior at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS, and the Student Representative for the High Plains Region of Sigma Tau Delta. He is currently pursuing a BA in English with a concentration in writing. He also serves as the president of his university’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter and works at his university’s writing center. A few of his favorite things include short-distance travel, local history, and community meals.
- I chose to become an English Major because in my opinion, writing and literature are the broadest and most accessible mediums through which to explore the human condition.
- My favorite part of being an English Major is being able to experience and discuss the myriad of emotional, historical, and cultural perspectives that different kinds of writing provide.

- My favorite childhood memory is walking along the creek near my house in the winter, then running home when it got dark.
- Growing up, I was sure I would be a detective (I had played all of the Nancy Drew PC games.).

- I like to spend my free time walking in nature, listening to CDs, and motivating myself to read/write.
